Guide to Sic Bo Betting

Sic Bo is a betting game. If you’ve played it before, you’ll realize that 90% of the game is the bets. The rest is literally just rolling three dice. That being said, the variation of bets that can be made make this game incredibly interesting. You can have odds from 30:1 to 1:180 depending on what bet you made!

In this article, I’ll explain the six different betting variations and give you an overview of them. By the time you’ve finished reading this, you’ll know which one is best for you to go with, depending on the level of risk you’re willing to take. Let’s get started!

Total

Total is the simplest betting method to start off with. You simply bet on what you expect the roll’s total outcome to be. (The sum of the three dice) The bet is from 4 to 17 because 3 and 18 are covered only by the triple bet. (We’ll get to that later)

The reward for each bet varies depending on the number you chose. The reason for this is because a total like 9 is far more likely to occur than a total like 4.

Small and Big

Small and Big is the easiest to win but doesn’t offer a huge reward for doing so. If you bet on small, you’ll win if the number is from 4 to 10. If you bet on big, you’ll win if the number is from 11 to 17.

Your odds are just slight below 50/50 thanks to the omission of the numbers 3 and 18.

Combination

Combination is when you bet on two numbers occurring in a single roll. For example, you may choose to bet on the numbers 2 and 6. If both 2 and 6 turn up on the three dice, you win! If only one or the other turns up, you lose the whole bet.

The odds are 1:6, so winning earn you 7 times what you had to begin with!

Single

A Single bet simply means betting that a certain number will come up in the roll. You can bet on any number from 1 to 6. You’ll earn 1:1 odds for a single showing of the number, then 1:3 for two and 1:12 for three.

Double

A Double is much like a Single except that you bet that the number will occur twice in a single roll. While you earn 1:3 odds in a Single bet for the same occurrence, if you bet through Double, you’ll get 1:11 odds! The disadvantage is that if the number turns up once, you lose your money.

Triple

A Triple, as you’ve probably caught onto by now, means that you bet a number will occur three times on each of the three dice. You can either bet that any triple turns up, earning you 1:30 odds, or you can bet on a specific number and earn 1:180 odds!

These are all the different bets that you can make in sicbo! I’ll leave it to you to decide which one is a good type of bet for you. Happy betting everyone!
